I. Hungarian Citizens WITHOUT a Registered Address in Hungary
If you wish to exercise your right to vote, you must request inclusion in the central voter register.
Deadline for registration request: March 18, 2026, 16:00 – must be received by the National Election Office.
How to register:
- Electronically via the official website: www.valasztas.hu
- In person or through an authorized representative at Hungary’s consular representations in Transcarpathia:
- Ungvár (Uzhhorod) Consulate General
- Beregszász (Berehove) Consulate
Assistance with filling out the registration form is available at the above consulates.
After successful registration, you will vote by mail. In the registration request, you must specify where you want the voting mail package delivered:
- To one of the Hungarian consulates in Transcarpathia (Ungvár or Beregszász), or
- To a designated local election office at a mayor’s office in Hungary.
You remain on the voter register for 10 years from the date of registration and can participate in all future parliamentary elections and national referendums during this period.
Collection of the Voting Mail Package (in person)
At the Hungarian Consulate in Transcarpathia (Ungvár Consulate General or Beregszász Consulate): – March 28 – April 10, 2026: every day (including weekends and holidays) from 07:00 to 21:00 – April 11, 2026: from 07:00 to 22:00 – April 12, 2026 (election day): from 06:00 to 19:00
Or at a designated settlement in Hungary (mayor’s office / local election office): – March 28 – April 11, 2026: working days from 09:00 to 16:00 – April 12, 2026: from 06:00 to 19:00
Required document: Valid photo ID (Hungarian or Ukrainian). If personal data differs, additional documents may be requested (Hungarian address card, naturalization certificate, etc.).
Submission of the Completed Vote (reply envelope)
Same locations and time windows as for collection (consulates in Transcarpathia or designated local offices in Hungary).
II. Hungarian Citizens WITH a Registered Address in Hungary
If you are abroad on election day and wish to vote at a Hungarian consular representation, you must request inclusion in the consular voter register no later than April 2, 2026, 16:00.
How to register:
- Electronically (with electronic identification) via www.magyarorszag.hu
- In person or through an authorized representative at any local election office in Hungary or any consular election office.
Voting takes place in person only on April 12, 2026 (from 06:00 to 19:00 Kyiv time) at the selected consular representation.
Required document: Valid Hungarian identity card, passport, or driver’s license.
